Job Title:
General Laborer Job Description We are a small, growing machine shop in Ladson, SC, seeking a dependable Deburr Laborer to support daily production. This role primarily involves deburring, cleaning, and finishing machined parts to ensure they meet quality standards before proceeding to the next operation or being shipped to customers. Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and pride in workmanship are essential. Responsibilities Remove burrs, sharp edges, and excess material from machined parts using hand tools, air tools, and basic finishing equipment. Inspect parts visually and with basic measuring tools to ensure quality and finish requirements are met. Clean, wash, and prepare parts for inspection, assembly, or shipping. Handle parts made from aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and other metals. Follow work instructions, drawings, and quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Safely operate hand tools, grinders, deburring wheels, files, and abrasives. Report damaged parts, quality concerns, or equipment issues to supervision. Assist with other shop labor tasks as needed. Essential Skills Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks with consistent quality. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify burrs, sharp edges, and surface defects. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Willingness to learn and take direction. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with deburring tools and techniques. Basic understanding of blueprints or part drawings. Experience working with metal parts. Why Work Here? Be prepared to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40-50 lbs as required, and frequently use hands for fine motor tasks. Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection) is required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ladson, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
