Job Description
ABOUT PORTLAND BOLT
Portland Bolt & Manufacturing Co. has built its business success on a philosophy of unparalleled service, quality products, and on-time delivery. Established in 1912, Portland Bolt manufactures large bolts and fasteners for construction projects worldwide — including high-rise buildings, bridges, power plants, and stadiums. With facilities in Portland, OR; Bellows Falls, VT; Jordan, NY; and N. Augusta, SC, and products shipped to all 50 states, 10 Canadian provinces and territories, and 31 countries, we are a growing, global organization rooted in manufacturing excellence.POSITION SUMMARY
Portland Bolt (N. Augusta, SC) is hiring a Warehouse Operations Specialist to run daily material flow in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment. This is more than a forklift job — you'll be accountable for inventory accuracy, receiving verification, and getting heavy fastener product picked, packed, and shipped correctly the first time. We're looking for someone who treats the warehouse like their own operation.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Execute daily shipping and receiving — loading/unloading flatbeds and box trucks, staging orders, and keeping freight on schedule
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment with a high accuracy standard — our product goes into structural applications where the wrong part matters
- Verify incoming material against POs; flag and resolve discrepancies, shortages, and damage
- Maintain inventory integrity in our warehouse management system using handheld scanners — own your counts, don't just record them
- Perform cycle counts and support inventory audits
- Operate forklifts safely to move heavy steel product throughout the facility
- Maintain a clean, organized, safety-first work area
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of shipping/receiving or warehouse experience — manufacturing, steel, or industrial distribution strongly preferred
- Demonstrated WMS and scanner proficiency — experience owning inventory transactions, not just following a pick list
- Ability to read POs, packing slips, and BOLs and catch errors before they ship
- Forklift experience required; certification preferred (we will certify the right candidate)
- Self-directed — able to prioritize workload without close supervision
- Basic computer skills: email, WMS, label printing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the full shift in an industrial manufacturing environment
