Job Description
Blue Mountain Distributors is looking for a dependable, physically capable team member to take ownership of building our dairy orders. This is not a general stocking position. You will become responsible for accurately building individual customer orders from four local dairies we support. Approximately 50% of each shift—generally 3-4 hours—is spent working inside a 45-degree cooler. During that time, you will read sales orders, pull the correct brands and quantities of milk, and build organized pallets or individual orders for delivery. This is an active, hands-on position involving repetitive lifting and moving of filled dairy crates. The right person will take pride in mastering every build, catching mistakes before an order leaves the warehouse, and keeping the dairy inventory organized and accurate. What You Will Do Read sales orders and accurately pull the correct dairy products and quantities. Build individual customer orders and organize completed orders onto pallets. Work inside a 45-degree cooler for approximately 50% of each shift. Repeatedly lift, carry, and stack heavy dairy crates during approximately 3-4 hours of the shift. Take ownership of the accuracy and organization of every dairy order you build. Monitor overstock, shortages, damaged products, and shrinkage. Complete the paperwork associated with dairy orders and inventory. Help receive and unload incoming dairy trucks. Rotate products properly and pay close attention to dates and product quality. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized cooler and work area. Work with another team member when support is scheduled to build larger loads as efficiently and accurately as possible. Assist with other warehouse responsibilities when dairy orders are complete. What This Position Requires Dependable attendance and the ability to arrive ready to work. The physical ability to repeatedly lift and move filled dairy crates safely. Comfort working for several hours inside a 45-degree cooler. Basic math skills and the ability to accurately read quantities on sales orders. Strong attention to detail—one incorrect quantity can affect a customer's entire delivery. The ability to stay organized while building multiple customer orders. A willingness to complete both physical work and the paperwork that supports it. The ability to work independently while also accepting training and working as part of a small team. Previous warehouse, order-pulling, dairy, grocery, or inventory experience is helpful but not required for someone who is dependable and willing to learn. Pay and Opportunity to Grow Starting pay is $17-$18 per hour , based on experience and demonstrated ability. We are looking for someone who wants the opportunity to grow with the position and the company. Increased responsibility and future pay growth will be based on demonstrated attendance, accuracy, efficiency, initiative, and the ability to take full ownership of the dairy-order process. Blue Mountain Distributors is a growing regional food distributor rebuilding after a total loss caused by Hurricane Helene. We are not a large corporate warehouse. We are a small team supporting local dairies, food producers, and independent businesses throughout the Southeast. Every team member's work matters, and the person in this position directly affects our customers, drivers, dairy partners, and daily operations. This position is best suited for someone who values consistent work, takes pride in doing a physical job well, and wants the opportunity to become a trusted part of a growing company.
