Job Description

Job Purpose Statement:
Material Handler is a position that is responsible for the movement of materials and supplies throughout the production environment. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory is in place to support production and ensure only the correct materials are delivered for use and are properly labeled and located.
Summary of Responsibility:
Read and understand production schedules and product specifications Select required materials from storage areas and assemble in orders, pack and/or repack materials as required, apply labels, stickers or markers and transport into staging areas Safely transport materials through the production areas, including loading or unloading trucks as required, using a variety of powered industrial vehicles Perform all safety checkout documentation, and report all faulty or defective equipment Perform audits on inventory, maintain FIFO process, ensure material is located in its proper areas Interface with tablets, handheld scanners, computer software, equipment
PLC / HMI
Support production goals by delivering correct materials on time Tag and report any material suspected of being out of specification Maintain a clean and organized work area. Adhere to prescribed safety rules and regulations. Identify any material that may affect inventory accuracy Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
High School diploma or GED required Minimum of 1 year in a manufacturing/distribution operation preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting production and quality goals Ability to obtain and maintain a valid forklift or equipment license as needed or required Must read, write and communicate in
English Ergonomic & Physical Requirements:
Must be able to meet the Ergonomic as well as the Physical Base Score for this position. Standing or Walking up to 90% of the day Lift / Carry 25lb constantly, up to 100lb occasionally Push / Pull 50lb constantly, up to 150lb occasionally Grasp 75lb Pinch 15lb Lift bulky objects Any lifting over 70 lbs. must be completed with assistance i.e. mechanical or individual.
Full range of motion required:
Cervical, Shoulders, Elbow, Wrist, Fingers, Hands, Truck Twist, and Feet. Ability to wear PPE as required Working Conditions may include: moderate noise, moving mechanical parts, static shock, high temperatures. Elevated work surfaces, odors, dust
