Job Description
- Job Title: Construction General Labourer
- Job Description
- This role involves supporting a large new-build construction project by carrying out a wide range of general labour and cleaning duties. You will help maintain a safe, tidy and efficient site by moving materials, assisting trades, and keeping work areas clean and clear at all times.
- Responsibilities
- + Carry out general labour and cleaning duties as required across the construction site.
+ Sweep floors and keep walkways, work areas and access routes clear of debris.
+ Pick up and dispose of rubbish and construction waste in designated areas.
+ Vacuum or remove standing water on site, including after rainfall, to maintain safe working conditions.
+ Move materials, tools and equipment safely from one location to another as directed.
+ Support carpenters and other trades with basic tasks and manual handling duties.
+ Help maintain an organised, tidy and safe site in line with construction safety standards.
+ Follow site instructions from supervisors and tradespeople promptly and accurately.
+ Adhere to all site safety rules, including the correct use of personal protective equipment.
+ Work effectively on a busy new construction site and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Essential Skills
- + Proven experience working as a general labourer on construction sites.
+ Comfort working on new construction job sites, including large commercial projects.
+ Strong understanding of construction site clean-up and housekeeping practices.
+ Ability to perform tasks such as sweeping, cleaning and material movement safely and efficiently.
+ Awareness of construction safety practices and willingness to follow safety procedures at all times.
+ Capability to assist trades, including carpenters, with basic site support duties.
+ Reliability, punctuality and the ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Any OSHA or related health and safety certifications are an advantage.
+ Experience performing general labourer duties specifically on new construction projects is ideal.
+ Previous experience with commercial construction or commercial new-build sites is beneficial.
+ Demonstrated experience in thorough site clean-up and maintaining a tidy work environment.
+ Comfort working on large-scale, high-profile construction projects.

- Work Environment
- You will work on a large new-build stadium construction site, operating in a busy, dynamic environment alongside multiple trades.
The role follows a Monday to Friday schedule, with an early morning start around 6:30 am. The site is an active commercial construction environment where safety is a priority, and you will use standard construction tools and equipment for cleaning and material movement. You will need to wear appropriate construction site attire and personal protective equipment as required, and be comfortable working outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditions on a high-profile project.

- This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.
- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $20.
00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
