Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Smoky Mountain Farmers Co-op is looking to hire a full-time Warehouse Worker at our Newport location. This position is responsible for accurately receiving, unpacking, arranging and storing goods, as well as dispatching goods to be moved, gathered or distributed as needed. This position will work with a team to maintain inventory and operate quickly and efficiently, as well as keep a clean and safe work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
o Receiving, Shipping & Logistics o Reads production schedule, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders and/or purchase orders to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed o Delivers materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas o Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style or product code o Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets, shelves, or delivers orders to the packing station or shipping department with accuracy o Safety & Quality Control o Ensures all quality control procedures are followed o Actively participates in all Smoky Mountain Farmers Co-op safety, environment and quality assurance programs o Safely operates a forklift of similar equipment to complete job requirements o Provide Excellent Customer Service o Maintain a helpful and positive attitude when working with customers and teammates. May be asked to perform other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
o Forklift Operator certification (preferred) o Ability to work within a team setting o Attention to detail o Must be dependable
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQURIEMENTS
o High School diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee or with reasonable accommodation to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. o Ability to move around the facility and grounds without assistance o Ability to repeatedly bend, crouch, kneel, stand, reach, grasp, crawl, walk, lift, push, pull, or climb o Ability to operate all equipment in a safe and proper manner o Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
