Full Job Description Job Description:
The Material Handler is responsible for performing a variety of material handling duties (shelf stocking, maintenance, inventory tracking and distribution) of medical, non-medical supplies and non-controlled medications.
Required Skills:
Effective oral and written communication skills in English. Possess knowledge of the overall warehousing plan and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques. Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation. Knowledge of record keeping practices. Knowledge of safety practices. Skill in lifting heavy packages and object Skill in operating forklift or other materials handling equipment. Ability to work effectively as a team member. Strong Customer Service skills and orientation. Must know the heights, widths and weights at which items may be stacked on pallets and in bin and bulk locations to prevent tipping, crushing or other damage. Must be knowledgeable of the special handling, control and storage of toxic chemicals, precious metals and controlled substances. Must be able to read and interpret standard operating procedures, regulations and guides that concern these items.

Work Experience:
One year experience in warehouse operations, hospital setting preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent.
