Hunter Buildings is the global leader in the design and manufacture of blast-resistant buildings. Located near the Ship Channel on the east side of Houston. Currently interviewing Inventory Warehouse Worker. Pay Rate based on experience.
Job Description:
Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, performing regular inventory checks, ensuring proper storage and organization of goods, and supporting the overall inventory management system to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse.
Responsibilities:
Include, but may not be limited to the following: Monitor and maintain inventory levels by regularly conducting physical counts of items in stock Verify and reconcile inventory discrepancies between physical counts and system records Ensure proper storage and labeling of goods in their designated areas to maintain an organized warehouse Track and update inventory movement, including goods received, shipped, and transferred between locations Assist in the preparation of inventory reports and assist with stock audits as required Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other inventory handling tools safely Assist in organizing stock rotation to minimize damage and prevent expired or obsolete goods from remaining in the warehouse Assist with receiving, unloading, and storing incoming shipments Track and report inventory adjustments (e.g., damaged, lost, or misplaced items) Replenish stock based on established minimum levels and forward recommendations for restocking to management Support the logistics and distribution teams by preparing inventory for outgoing orders and shipments Assist in managing and maintaining warehouse organizations to maximize space and improve operational efficiency Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards related to warehouse inventory management Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of inventory management practices, including receiving, storing, tracking, and organizing stock Ability to perform accurate and efficient stock counting and tracking Strong attention to detail to identify inventory discrepancies and maintain accurate records Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory systems Ability to use computer and software systems to track inventory and generate reports Ability to perform basic arithmetic to calculate inventory levels and report discrepancies Ability to use warehouse tools and equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and effectively Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and meet deadlines Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve inventory issues Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy and efficiency Ability to work under pressure and handle high volumes of work Ability to follow specific written and verbal instructions Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment Ability to act in a courteous and professional manner at all times; Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Ensures efficient warehouse operations through collaboration and coordination with other departments. Completes all required management reports. Attends and participates in regularly scheduled and impromptu meetings. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies. Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent Experience in warehouse receiving assignments, maintenance, and overall warehouse operation.
Physical Requirements:
Reach with hands and arms and grasp objects Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects. Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the warehouse. Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl. Stand for long periods of time with intermittent walking Lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Work in an environment with moderate noise levels and varying temperatures
Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
