Warehouse Worker Job Description This role supports warehouse operations by performing a variety of cross-functional tasks to move products and packages throughout the facility, including loading and unloading materials. The warehouse worker ensures the safe and efficient handling, storage, and distribution of goods while maintaining accurate inventory and fulfilling customer orders. This position also helps maintain a clean, organized work environment and contributes to a positive team culture by collaborating effectively with other team members. Responsibilities Move products and packages throughout the warehouse using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, high reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools. Conduct equipment checks prior to the start of each shift and promptly notify supervision of any issues or safety concerns. Load and unload materials and merchandise from trucks and place them in the correct storage locations within the warehouse. Stage pallets as needed for shipment, ensuring they are organized and ready for outbound orders. Select products according to pick tickets and accurately place them in boxes for shipment, including product labeling and box building as required. Assemble daily shipments by order location and category to ensure efficient and accurate order fulfillment. Ensure orders are packed into appropriate shipping containers for customer delivery, following all packing guidelines. Inspect products during packing to verify there is no damage and that quality standards are met. Perform quality control assessments on products and ensure they are stacked safely and securely. Build boxes as needed for shipping products to customers. Notify supervision of any deficiencies in product quality, customer shortages, or damaged goods. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the warehouse. Collaborate with team members to support a positive work environment and healthy team culture. Essential Skills Minimum 1 year of experience in a warehouse or forklift-related role. Proficiency in warehouse operations, including material handling, packing, picking, and inventory tasks. Experience using RF scanners for inventory and order processing. Proficient in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, high reach trucks, and pallet jacks. Ability to move products and packages safely and efficiently using appropriate material handling equipment. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order picking, packing, labeling, and quality control. Ability to follow safety procedures and conduct equipment checks before use. High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to work in a cold storage environment for extended periods. Willingness to work assigned shifts, including weekday and weekend schedules. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a cold storage facility is a plus. Forklift certification (pallet jack or high reach) preferred, with the ability to obtain certification upon hire. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with supervision and team members regarding issues, shortages, or damaged products. Work Environment This position is based in a cold storage warehouse facility where temperatures consistently remain under 40 degrees and may be as low as -2 degrees. Team members work around powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, high reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools. The role requires working scheduled shifts, including a Tuesday to Saturday shift from 07:00 to 15:30 and a Monday to Friday shift from 16:00 to 00:30, as needed. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, and candidates should be comfortable working in cold conditions and around warehouse machinery. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lockhart, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
