Job Description
National Wholesale Supply has an exciting opportunity to work at our Mesquite HVAC location as a wholesale Warehouse Associate. We are a stable organization founded in 2002 and our team is expanding operations in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. We are looking for career-minded individuals wanting a long-term opportunity to strive in our growing and profitable plumbing distribution industry. For the past two decades, National Wholesale Supply has been providing the Plumbing, PVF, HVAC, and Water and Sewer industries with deep and broad inventory positions to ensure we have what the customer needs, when they want it, with service that is second to none in our industry. Job Summary Warehouse Associate personnel are responsible for putting away material, pulling material for orders, unloading material off vendor trucks, packing material in boxes and on pallets, loading trucks, and assisting customers. They always work safely and are friendly to all internal and external customers. Focus is on efficient and safe operations, while cultivating customer relationships and exceeding customer expectations of prompt service. Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Unload vendor shipments using hand trucks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment. Operating safely and within compliance of all NWS rules, applicable laws, and state and federal regulations.
- Checking-in material from vendors quickly, accurately, and efficiently. Verifying counts are correct and placing items in proper bin locations within our warehouses.
- Utilizing pick tickets to pull customer orders quickly, accurately, and efficiently. Making sure counts are correct and material is suitable for shipment to customer.
- Safely package and bundle loads for transport. Packages and items may be loaded into boxes, onto pallets, or other material handling and storing devices. Use care when loading products to make sure boxes are labeled properly and items are in the correct boxes.
- Work with internal and external customers to quickly resolve any customer service issues including quantity or item discrepancies.
- Provide and maintain a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers. Build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, material locations, and safety standards. Remove empty cartons, broken pallets, wood and metal pieces, and any other debris that does not belong in the warehouse or on the property.
- Perform other reasonably related duties and tasks as required by Management. Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old.
- Experience in a warehouse environment (receiving, material handling, and/or order picking) a plus but not required.
- Able to learn to safely operate a forklift, picker, and other material handling equipment in use in the warehouse.
- Able to stay calm and function in a stressful, unexpected, or emergency situation.
- Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to safely handle and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and common fractions or decimals.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Bi-lingual is a plus.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Must pass pre-employment background screening.
- Verification of citizenship or work authorization status. Work Environment
- This role requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment which may be heavy (50+ pounds).
- Typically, in a comfortable environment, but with regular exposure to a warehouse environment with factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes.
