Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator / Material Handler to join our team for a long-term yard project in Pecos, TX. This role involves operating large construction equipment and handling non-hazardous materials in an outdoor laydown yard environment. The ideal candidate has prior experience operating large wheel loaders (35,000 lbs with forks) and is physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs consistently. This is a hands-on role requiring both machinery operation and manual labor.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate heavy equipment such as telehandlers and large wheel loaders Load/unload materials manually and with equipment Label, track, and properly place materials within the yard Prepare materials for transport using proper securing methods (strapping, bracing, etc.) Maintain inventory records and ensure delivery accuracy Assemble crates or other packaging using hand tools Perform routine maintenance on material handling equipment Work outdoors in various weather conditions

Requirements:

MUST HAVE

experience operating large loaders (35,000 lbs) and telehandlers Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly Experience working outdoors in labor-intensive roles Willingness to perform both equipment operation and physical labor Flexibility to work overtime with little notice Good communication and teamwork skills Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability Physical capability for bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and other manual tasks
