Job Title:
Material Handler Job Description The Material Handler maintains accurate inventory, supports production by issuing and kitting materials, and ensures all stock movements are documented correctly in the system. This role plays a key part in keeping materials organized, labeled, and readily available for production operations while following established handling and ESD control procedures. Responsibilities Maintain organized inventory storage areas and perform regular cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels. Issue materials from the stockroom and assemble kits for special projects such as production control plans, sales orders, engineering change notices, nonconformance reports, and return material authorizations. Accurately pick, count, and label parts for production operations according to pick lists and work instructions. Document material shortages and discrepancies and enter all relevant data into SAP or other inventory systems. Audit returned kits, verify contents, and re-shelve materials in their correct locations. Follow all materials handling procedures, including ESD (electrostatic discharge) control procedures, to protect components and maintain quality standards. Support shipping and receiving activities by assisting with the movement, verification, and storage of incoming and outgoing materials. Use computer systems to track inventory, update records, and support daily materials operations. Collaborate closely with team members to ensure timely material availability for production and special projects. Work flexible hours, including daily and weekly overtime, as needed to meet operational demands. Essential Skills Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory control in a materials handling environment. Ability to accurately pick, count, and label parts for production operations. Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail. Computer literacy with Windows-based systems and the ability to enter and maintain data accurately. Familiarity with SAP or similar inventory management systems for documenting shortages and stock movements. Ability to follow materials handling and ESD control procedures consistently. Capability to work flexible hours, including daily and weekly overtime. Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent education. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in electronic manufacturing environments. Knowledge of Oracle 11i or similar enterprise resource planning systems. Previous experience working with special projects such as sales orders, engineering change notices, nonconformance reports, and return material authorizations. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a small team. Comfort working in a structured, process-driven environment with defined procedures. Why Work Here? The role involves regular use of computer systems, including Windows-based applications and inventory or ERP tools such as SAP and Oracle 11i. Dress code is casual and practical, typically jeans, a t-shirt, and tennis shoes, suitable for a hands-on materials handling environment. Work hours may include daily and weekly overtime, providing a dynamic environment that supports production needs and operational deadlines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Plano, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
