Job Description
Job purpose The Material Handler is responsible for moving, staging, and organizing materials throughout the facility to support production and warehouse operations. This role ensures materials are available in the right place, at the right time, in the right condition. Material Handlers use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to safely handle materials while maintaining accurate records and following all safety and food safety protocols. Duties and Responsibilities Move, stage, and store raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and related equipment safely Label and document material movement per inventory control procedures Conduct equipment checks and report maintenance needs Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area Follow daily instructions and adjust to changing production or warehouse priorities Participate in preshift meetings and team huddles Model safe behavior and follow all safety protocols, including PPE use Perform additional tasks as needed to support operations Must be available for flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays Qualifications Minimum 1 year of forklift experience required (Many roles involve stand-up forklift operation; experience with stand-up trucks is a strong advantage but not required for all positions) Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage. Ability to work and accommodate changing deadlines with a focus on organizational skills and initiative. Ability to maintain high levels of CandyCo requirements. Able to work independently and in a team environment Comfortable using basic warehouse systems, tools, and procedures Working Conditions Must be able to work any/all shifts as directed Must be able to work overtime as necessary, including Holidays and/or weekends Standing/walking for long period of time Must be an avid Safety Champion and adhere to all safety programs and procedures Physical Requirements A non-slip resistant work shoe Pre-shift stretch and exercises to be performed Hair restraint, beard net (if needed), and Safety gloves as needed All required PPEs are worn properly when working with equipment or chemicals that require personal protection Position requires the ability to: stand, sit at a desk, walking around the facility, lifting and carrying up t0 50-LBS unassisted, reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting Also requires the ability to: see, hear, and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette Direct Report None The hours for this shift are from 2:30pm- 10:30pm.
