About the role Statewide Equipment is an authorized dealer for LiuGong, Kioti, Dynapac, and Topcon, serving contractors, farmers, municipalities, and rental customers across southern Utah. Every machine that leaves our lot — sold, rented, or delivered — represents us. We're looking for someone with hands-on mechanical experience who takes pride in making equipment look and run right. This is a hands-on role keeping our sales lot, rental fleet, and shop clean, serviced, and ready to go. You won't be doing major engine or hydraulic repair — that's our technicians — but you do need to be comfortable with tools, fluids, filters, and basic troubleshooting. This is a real entry point into the equipment industry, and there's a clear path into a full technician role for someone who wants it. What you'll do Wash, pressure wash, and detail equipment — new units for delivery, rental returns, trade-ins, and lot inventory Grease and lube machines per service intervals; check and top off fluids (engine oil, hydraulic, coolant, DEF) Basic service work: filter changes, fluid changes, battery service, tire and track pressure, light bulb and mirror replacement, minor bolt-on repairs Walk-around inspections on rental returns and lot units — check tires and tracks, lights, glass, decals, safety stickers, fluid leaks, and general damage Identify and report mechanical issues to the Service Manager with photos before they become customer problems Start and cycle lot inventory regularly so batteries stay charged and machines stay operational Stage machines for delivery, pickup, photos, and customer demos Keep the yard organized — equipment lined up, walkways clear, trash and scrap handled Keep the shop clean: sweep bays, manage waste oil and used parts, organize tools and supplies Assist technicians on larger repairs as needed Snow removal and general grounds upkeep Load, secure, and help transport smaller units for local delivery and pickup What you need 1+ year of hands-on mechanical experience — equipment, diesel trucks, automotive, agricultural, or comparable Comfortable performing basic service work: fluids, filters, greasing, batteries, tires, and minor repairs Own basic hand tools (Statewide provides specialty tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment) Ability to recognize when something is wrong mechanically and report it clearly Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to operate equipment safely, or willingness to be trained (skid steer, tractor, forklift, telehandler) Comfortable working outdoors year-round — hot summers, cold winters Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb on and off machines, and stay on your feet through a shift Attention to detail — noticing a low tire or a fresh hydraulic leak is a core part of the job Reliable attendance and the ability to work through a task list without being followed around Willingness to document with photos and report findings honestly Nice to have Experience servicing heavy equipment, tractors, or diesel engines Prior experience detailing equipment, trucks, or vehicles Experience running skid steers, tractors, or other equipment Hydraulic hose, fitting, or basic electrical troubleshooting experience Welding or fabrication basics Experience loading, securing, and transporting small equipment under 10,000 lbs Interest in growing into a full technician role

$16.00 - $22.00 per hour
