Job Description

About Silicom Edge Division Silicom Connectivity Solutions is an industry-leading provider of high-performance networking and data infrastructure solutions. At the Edge Division, we design and build the appliances that power some of the fastest-growing segments in networking — AI at the edge, 5G infrastructure, SD-WAN, edge computing, and industrial deployments. Our platforms ship to more than 300 customers worldwide. Silicom Ltd. is publicly traded on Nasdaq under the symbol SILC. Our Charlottesville, VA lab is the heartbeat of Edge Division operations — engineering, production, shipping, and everything in between. The Role We're looking for a reliable, hands-on part-time Lab & Warehouse Assistant to keep our lab and shipping operation running smoothly. This is a physical, active role — you'll be moving, unpacking, packing, organizing, and running errands. Every day looks a little different. You won't need a tech background for this one. What matters is that you show up on time, work independently once you're trained, and genuinely enjoy keeping things organized. We'll teach you the rest. What You'll Do Unpack, sort, and log inbound shipments — and track down any that end up scattered around the facility Assist with the physical side of packing and boxing outbound orders (paperwork and shipping logistics are handled by others) Break down boxes, pallets, and packing materials for recycling Conduct regular organization of lab, production, and storage areas Remove obsolete inventory items flagged for purging; strip and recycle as directed Return scattered tools, bins, and equipment to where they belong Help organize tools and parts that don't have a permanent home yet Move furniture, equipment, and heavy items around the facility as needed Run local errands — UPS/FedEx drop-offs, vendor pickups, machine shop runs Pitch in on general facility tasks and whatever else comes up What We're Looking For Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. safely and repeatedly Reliable transportation to the Charlottesville, VA lab Availability weekday afternoons; hours vary week to week (lighter some weeks, heavier others), with an average around 12-16 hours. Flexibility to scale up or down based on workload is important Strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in keeping things organized Ability to work independently once you know the ropes — this isn't a supervised-at-all-times role Basic comfort with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) for simple inventory logging Prior shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience is a plus Experience in a manufacturing or lab environment is a plus No polished resume required. If you've worked in a warehouse, a shop, a storeroom, or anywhere that involved keeping physical spaces and inventory in order, tell us about it. That's the experience we care about. Why This Role Real impact, right away. The team at our Charlottesville lab is lean and busy. When things are organized and shipments are handled, everyone works better. You'll feel the difference you make. Flexible schedule. Weekday afternoons, with hours that ebb and flow based on what is happening in the lab. Some weeks will be light, some will be busy. We plan ahead as much as possible and will give you as much notice as we can — but flexibility is key. Good people. Our lab team is small and collaborative. This isn't a faceless warehouse job — you'll know everyone by name. Stable company, real growth. Silicom has been around for decades and is publicly traded. If you grow with the role and hours become available, there's room to expand. Location & Schedule This role is on-site at our Charlottesville, Virginia facility. This is a part-time role with variable hours, generally weekday afternoons. Hours will ebb and flow with lab activity — some weeks lighter, some heavier. We aim to give advance notice whenever possible, but flexibility to adapt to changing week-to-week demands is an important part of the role.
