Description Summary The Material Warehouse Specialist manages the full lifecycle of production inventory, supplies, finished goods, and Government Furnished Material (GFM). This mid-level role bridges physical warehouse operations with data-driven inventory systems, requiring hands-on shipping and receiving expertise, ERP transaction ownership, strict compliance with BMF standards and FAR Part 45, and local field delivery support when required. Essential Job Responsibilities GFM & Compliance Management:
Receive, segregate, track, and store GFM in strict accordance with BMF standards and FAR Part 45. Ensure all handling, distribution, and documentation adhere to federal compliance guidelines. Data Reconciliation & ERP Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records; reconcile physical warehouse stock against ERP records (MS Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred) and resolve material variances using intermediate MS Excel skills. Shipping, Receiving & Fulfillment:
Process requisition and material pull requests; pick, pack, and sort items to designated racks, bins, or sortation areas. Inspect incoming shipments for damage, verify manifests, and process outgoing freight within KPI guidelines. Audit Readiness & Cycle Counting:
Lead physical inventory audits and weekly cycle count programs. Partner with cross-functional departments and production teams to resolve material shortages and inventory bottlenecks. Logistics & Field Support:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Operate forklifts and drive company vehicles to pick up and deliver critical materials from vendors and production areas. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in material handling, inventory analysis, or functional warehouse operations (receipt, storage, tracking, shipment). Demonstrated experience or strong familiarity handling Government Furnished Property/Material (GFP/GFM) preferred. Hands-on proficiency with enterprise ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred. Intermediate MS Excel skills required. Proficiency in Word and Outlook required. Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record required. Forklift certification required; must obtain and maintain certification per safety regulations. Excellent organizational, administrative, and communication skills. Strong independent problem-solving abilities with a track record of streamlining manual data workflows. Physical Demands & Working Conditions Work is primarily performed in a warehouse and production environment. Requires walking, sitting, or standing for extended periods. Must have the ability to routinely handle material and lift up to 75 lbs. on occasion. Maintains and cleans the warehouse and work area after every shift. Additional Requirements Must be able to gain access to U.S. military installations, shipyards, and government facilities (DBIDS eligibility required). Must be able to comply with all company, customer, and government security requirements. Position may require occasional local travel to vendor sites, shipyards, and production areas. Must be able to work in industrial environments, including shipboard settings when required.
