Material Handler II Location:
Coloniel Heights, VA What we are looking for: The Material Handler will be responsible for accurately and safely loading and unloading of materials while maintaining the flow of materials to the organizations to ensure that all aspects of the company needs are being met for our Frames Department. What you will be responsible for in this role: Consignment inventory, location to location moves, & inventory adjustments. Operates hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks or within the facility. Responsible for the ongoing inventory accuracy of the facility.
Notifies one of the following:
Inventory Control, Receiving Lead & Receiving Supervisor when material control issues are discovered. Works with Inventory Control & Lead(s) during investigations of quality issues, inventory issues, shipping complaints and process improvements. Works as part of the Distribution team to ensure all requested material transfers are completed accurately in a timely manner. Transfers, transports and stages materials in a timely and accurate manner. Maintains warehouse documentation and other related records. Participates in the continuous improvement of the distribution department. Communication of job status between shifts and continuation of work in progress. Quickly and effectively shifts gears to meet changing business requirements. Helps establish continuous improvement processes that result in the most effective use of all resources, reducing costs, and improving quality. Other duties may be assigned. What are the basic qualifications? High School Diploma or GED Must have a minimum of 12 months warehouse experience Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes Ability to operate all forms of forklifts Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills What are the preferred qualifications? 2+ years' experience pulling orders in a warehouse environment. To be a great fit for the role: Organizational and time management skills. Team oriented individual who is flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing, fast paced and complex environment. Ability to plan and organize and to set priorities in order to meet deadlines and ensure customer satisfaction Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Strong written and verbal communication skills Must be able to follow instructions and exercise good judgment. Knowledge to troubleshoot causes of operating errors and decide the best course of action to fix. Must have ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Must have good teamwork and communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work with machine operators, mechanics, contractors, drivers and/or vendors. Must be able to reach with hands and arms Must be able to sit, stoop, and/or kneel Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasional extended hours are required . Must have a positive attitude.
