Warehouse Worker Job Description As a warehouse worker, you will primarily be responsible for operating forklifts and handling logistics to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role demands a high level of productivity, with only a two-hour lead time on all materials needed for the production floor. Candidates will engage in forklift operations for 50% of their day, while the remaining time will be spent walking, cleaning, material handling by hand, and fulfilling additional duties as assigned. Responsibilities Operate forklifts and logistic equipment to move, stack, and count merchandise. Ensure materials are available on the production floor within a two-hour lead time. Engage in material handling, cleaning, and other assigned tasks for 50% of the shift. Use warehouse management systems to track inventory and manage order selection. Maintain production metrics and standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Perform repetitive tasks including packing products and lifting up to 40 lbs unassisted. Essential Skills Minimum 3 years of forklift experience, preferably stand-up electric-powered forklifts. Forklift certification verified through references. Experience with warehouse management systems and distribution order selection. Ability to work night shifts on a 24/7 schedule with a night shift differential. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with mobile equipment such as stand-up reach trucks and electric pallet jacks. Proven track record of positive performance and attendance. Work Environment The work environment is a very clean, state-of-the-art facility located in Colonial Heights, housing packaging operations, a warehouse, and a training center. The facility is climate-controlled, and includes smaller aisles (around 12 feet) requiring candidates to learn spacing before operating equipment. Employees have access to locker rooms, and must store cell phones in lockers or cars as they are not allowed on the production floor. The facility operates on a 24/7 schedule with night shift roles available, and includes a canteen/breakroom with food and drink machines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colonial Heights, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.91 - $23.91/hr.
