Yard Worker

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Yard Worker and be a vital part of our warehouse operations! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, operating heavy equipment, and maintaining a safe and organized yard environment. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth shipping, receiving, and order picking processes while supporting overall warehouse productivity. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in warehouse distribution, heavy equipment operation, and materials handling within a fast-paced setting. Duties Load and unload trucks using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Operate cranes and other machinery to move large or heavy materials safely across the yard. Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately using RF scanners and warehouse management systems to ensure timely shipments. Maintain a clean, organized yard by stacking pallets, managing inventory locations, and ensuring clear pathways for movement. Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation. Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as forklifts and cranes to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance per OSHA standards. Support construction or maintenance tasks as needed, utilizing mechanical knowledge for minor repairs or adjustments. Skills Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, or materials handling environments. Skilled in operating heavy equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, cranes, and pallet jacks with proper certification preferred. Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment use. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues on equipment. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picker technology. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during order picking or load/unload tasks. Previous warehouse supervisor or leadership experience is a plus for team coordination roles. Pay:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
