Job Description
The Rappahannock Regional Jail is seeking a Warehouse Technician to perform intermediate semiskilled work overseeing and participating in warehouse and grounds keeping operations, and related work as apparent or assigned. Essential Functions include, but are not limited to: Oversees inmates and participates in the work of unloading trucks, sorting, receiving, and distributing supplies and equipment, trash removal, stocking, organizing, and keeping inventory. Removes trash and sanitizes trash carts; cleans and maintains warehouse area and equipment; washes vehicles. Performs landscaping duties to include operation and maintenance of lawn and landscaping equipment; removes snow and ice. Assists in cleaning and the organization of the warehouse and supply areas. Trains inmates in the proper use of warehouse and landscaping equipment; provides documented and physical training on safe use of grounds keeping equipment, motorized and non-motorized vehicles, and hazardous materials. Performs safety checks on equipment and tools; notifies appropriate staff of repairs or replacement needs. Participates in inventory of all supplies stored within the warehouse. Assist maintenance with special projects. Maintain professional rapport with staff, inmates, and vendors.
