Job Title:
Material Handler Job Description The Material Handler plays a key role in supporting warehouse and production operations by ensuring materials are received, organized, and delivered accurately and on time to meet production goals. This position requires a dependable, goal-driven individual with a strong team-first mentality who takes initiative, communicates clearly, and is comfortable asking questions. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, operates with a sense of urgency, collaborates effectively, and consistently shows up ready to contribute. Responsibilities Receive incoming materials and verify accuracy by inspecting, checking documentation, and confirming quantities. Perform shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading materials and products safely and efficiently. Handle materials using appropriate equipment and methods to move items throughout the warehouse and production areas. Track inventory levels accurately using inventory systems and tools, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation. Stage, pull, and kit materials for production, ensuring assemblers have the correct parts and components prepared in advance. Organize and maintain the warehouse in a clean, orderly manner, applying a 5S mindset to support efficiency and safety. Support general labor tasks such as picking, packaging, and basic assembly as needed to meet production and shipping schedules. Maintain accurate records of materials received, stored, and issued to production or shipping. Collaborate closely with production and warehouse team members to meet daily and weekly production goals. Take inventory and regulate orders for the team to ensure adequate stock levels and timely replenishment. Communicate clearly with team members and leadership regarding material status, shortages, or issues impacting production. Demonstrate reliability by consistently showing up prepared, following instructions, and taking pride in quality work. Essential Skills Experience in warehouse, materials handling, or general production preferred. Forklift experience preferred, or ability and willingness to obtain forklift certification. Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions and documentation. Comfort using inventory tracking systems to record and monitor materials. Material handling skills, including safe lifting, moving, and organizing of materials. Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading. Familiarity with inventory tracking, reconciliation, and staging activities. Ability to perform material pulling and kitting for production. Basic skills in picking, packaging, and general labor tasks. High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Experience with inventory systems and related software. Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean, organized work area using a 5S or similar methodology. Strong communication skills and a team-first mentality. Proactive attitude with a sense of ownership and urgency toward meeting daily goals. Comfort supporting basic assembly tasks when needed. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing warehouse setting where you will regularly handle materials, set up kits for assemblers, and pack components for production builds. You will work closely with the warehouse leadership team, take inventory, and help regulate orders to keep materials flowing smoothly. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
