Job Title:
Salvaged Lumber Warehouse Associate Location:
SODO District, Seattle Job Type:
Full-time About the Role We are seeking a reliable, hardworking individual to join our Salvaged Lumber Warehouse team. This is a dynamic, hands-on position that starts in production but has a clear pathway for growth. Initially, your focus will be learning our inventory from the ground up: processing raw reclaimed wood, denailing, and organizing the warehouse. As you master the product knowledge and our operations, this role offers the potential to transition into a Retail & Showroom, Milling and Production, or Community Engagement leadership positions. We are looking for someone who isn't afraid of hard work today but has the communication skills to manage sales and customer relationships tomorrow.
Key Responsibilities Lumber Processing:
Inspecting, sorting, and manually removing nails/fasteners from reclaimed wood to prepare it for milling.
Warehouse Operations:
safe operation of planers, saws, and forklifts (training provided), and organizing inventory racks.
Inventory Management:
Grading lumber and helping to maintain an organized flow of materials from the "Green Column" (intake to finished stock.
Future Sales Support:
Learning to identify wood species and grades to eventually assist builders and homeowners in the showroom.
Facility Maintenance:
Maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
Qualifications Strong Work Ethic:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, bending, pulling nails) in a warehouse environment.
Customer Service Mindset:
A friendly demeanor and good communication skills are essential, as this role may evolve into customer-facing responsibilities.
Team Player:
Willingness to jump in where needed, whether it's sweeping the floor or helping a customer load their truck.
Curiosity:
An interest in sustainability, wood species, and construction is a huge bonus.
Reliable:
Punctuality and a positive attitude are non-negotiable. • This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a pilot program that is changing how Seattle builds. You will gain valuable skills in lumber processing and circular economy logistics. For motivated individuals, this is not just a labor job—it is a training ground for a future career in sustainable building sales and management.
