Position Summary Monson Fruit Co., LLC is seeking a reliable cranberry worker within our fruit packing facility. This position is responsible for a variety of duties involved in receiving, handling, inspecting, sorting, packing, and preparing cranberries for shipment. Employees may be assigned to different areas of the warehouse based on production needs, including pre-sorting, sorting, bagging, packing, segregating, and repacking. Essential Job Duties Duties may include, but are not limited to: Pre-Sorting Assist with unloading and handling cranberry fruit. Inspect fruit and remove foreign material, damaged, defective, or otherwise unacceptable cranberries. Identify and separate fruit according to established quality standards. Maintain proper product flow and communicate quality concerns to supervisors. Sorting Visually inspect cranberries as they move through the sorting line. Remove fruit that do not meet established quality specifications. Identify defects such as rot, mold, discoloration, damage, foreign material, or other quality concerns. Maintain consistent attention to the product and sorting standards throughout the shift. Bagging Operate or assist with cranberry bagging equipment. Place, position, fill, inspect, and handle bags or containers. Check package weight, appearance, seals, labels, and product presentation as required. Keep the work area supplied with necessary packaging materials. Packing Place packaged product into cartons, boxes, cases, or other shipping containers. Assemble, close, label, stack, and organize finished product. Inspect packaging for damage or defects. Follow customer, product, and packaging specifications. Segregating Separate product according to size, quality, grade, customer specifications, or other established requirements. Properly identify and handle product requiring further inspection or processing. Maintain accurate product separation and prevent product mix-ups. Repacking Open, inspect, sort, and repack product as directed. Replace damaged or unacceptable packaging. Rework product according to established quality and food safety procedures. Ensure repacked product meets applicable specifications. General Warehouse Duties Follow all company safety, food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures. Maintain a clean and orderly workstation. Follow proper handwashing, personal hygiene, PPE, and sanitation requirements. Safely operate or work around conveyors, packing equipment, and other machinery after appropriate training. Lift, carry, push, pull, stack, and move materials as required by the assigned position. Communicate equipment, safety, quality, or production concerns to a supervisor. Work cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors. Perform other related duties as assigned. Work Environment Fruit packing and cold-storage facility. Exposure to cold, wet, and humid conditions. Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching. Physically demanding, fast-paced environment. Use of cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. Work Environment The work environment is a fast-paced warehouse and produce packing facility that includes exposure to conveyor systems, automated machinery, wet floors, cold or refrigerated temperatures, noise, and repetitive motion tasks. Employees may work while standing for extended periods and in close proximity to moving equipment and other team members. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety procedures is required at all times.
Requirements:
Qualifications Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to maintain attention to detail in a repetitive production environment. Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, quality, and safety procedures. Ability to meet attendance and punctuality requirements. Previous warehouse, food processing, packing, sorting, or agricultural experience is preferred but not required unless specified for a particular position. Ability to successfully complete required training. Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and seasonal shifts. Physical & Sensory Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, and use hands and arms repetitively for extended periods. Frequently use hands, fingers, and wrists to sort, inspect, handle, pack, and manipulate product and packaging materials. Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds for segregating and palletizing tasks only. Bend, stoop, twist, kneel, and reach as necessary. Ability to work in wet, cold, or noisy environments common to produce packing facilities. Ability to visually inspect produce for quality defects. Ability to hear and respond to machinery sounds, alarms, and verbal instructions. Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the shift. Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods to ensure safe operation and compliance with safety regulations
