JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL
FUNCTION
As Distribution Clerk (Receiving), you will be responsible for incoming material, supplies, equipment and returned goods accurately. You will also ensure tracking of freight movements, while working collaboratively with all other team members to continuously improve warehouse processes that will positively impact customer service and grow profitably.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent. Processes all paperwork relating to receiving functions such as bills of lading. Records all incoming material, supplies, equipment and returned goods accurately. Verifies goods received against purchase orders. Verifies that materials are properly identified in storage and bin locations. Routes inbound freight to assure receipt or delivery as required. Uses hand pallet truck and electronic pallet truck for loading and unloading. Performs forklift operations. Back up supervisory support to warehouse manager and assigns staff their daily tasks. Oversees receiving daily activities. Expedites requests for tracing of freight movement. Reports initial freight claims with carriers for losses, damages, product shortages and overages. Audits freight bills of lading and submits documentation to carriers for errors.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 1-2
years of Warehouse, distribution, or related experience. High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Math aptitude - calculating and counting. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to manage priorities and workflow. Ability to use forklift, electric pallet truck and hand pallet truck Commitment and get things done attitude
