Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to safely and efficiently load building materials for customers. Additional duties include receiving and unloading vendor deliveries, stocking and organizing materials, labeling and tracking special-order materials, and maintaining overall yard cleanliness and organization. Role:
$20.00+ per hour depending on experience.
Monday-Friday:
7:30 AM to 3:30
PM Monday-Thursday:
6:30 AM to 5:00
PM Tuesday-Friday:
6:30 AM to 5:00 PM Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy. Load trucks according to the list of materials on the sales invoice. Accurately record all merchandise returns on a credit memo. Listen and work with customers to solve customer needs. Cut and prepare materials (such as I-joists or LVLs) for customer orders when needed. Assist with basic maintenance and safe operation of equipment such as forklifts, banders, or saws. Help maintain yard organization, cleanliness, and safety. Assist with occasional deliveries and unloading materials for customers when needed. Perform duties in ALL types of weather conditions. Other tasks as assigned. Must have a valid drivers license. Ability to operate or obtain certification for forklifts and chainsaws. Desire to learn and grow professionally. Self-motivated and productive. Physical strength to lift and carry 75 pounds consistently. Ability to use a tape measure and follow directions. Customer-oriented self-starter who is a quick learner and adapts easily to new tasks. Must be willing to work outside in various weather conditions. Knowledge of and ability to understand basic mechanical systems. Lumber yard material handling, order fulfillment, and long-load forklift experience is helpful.
