Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Chemical Handler 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our organization. This role is located in Palmdale, CA Job Duties and Tasks Operates vehicles including trucks, tugs and forklifts used for moving hazardous waste. Manually moves bins, drums and pallets of materials. Travels to multiple sites within the Antelope Valley to complete work. Prepares shipping manifests and maintains documentation in accordance with applicable regulations. Facilitates and monitors contractors brought on site for hazardous waste related functions and projects. Performs a variety of tasks within the company facilities related to managing and disposing hazardous waste in accordance with federal, state and local regulations such as EPA and DOT. Collects drums and bins of liquids and solids deemed to be hazardous waste and prepares shipments to disposal sites. Cleans up chemical spills. Prepares for and supports regulatory inspections. Basic Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience. Must have a good understanding of chemicals (acids, bases, oxidizers, flammables, reducers, water-reactives) in a variety of forms (liquids, solids, gases, sludges, slurries) and related incompatibilities to prevent undesirable chemical reactions. Must be able to perform work in occasional hazardous working conditions, both indoors and outside, and may require the use of specialized safety and personal protective equipment.Primary Level Salary Range:
$56,000.00 - $93,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
