Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Environmental Field Chemist II role works both indoors and outdoors at various customer sites as a proficient partner to the team to lead safety protocols, package all materials based on required regulations, including onsite testing of suspected materials, and work with the customer to add additional services. They are responsible for leading hazardous waste removal services.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads collection, characterization & packaging of customer waste for final disposal. Responsible for safe transportation of customer waste in accordance with all Federal Regulations and receiving facility regulations. Prepares customer paperwork including but not limited to: Packing Lists, Waste Labels & Shipping Documents. Performs onsite support at customer locations such as inspections, waste collection, chemical dispensing, inventory management, housekeeping & outbound waste shipments. Identifies and categorizes suspected contents via internal sampling procedures & categorization tests, i.e. 'Field Screens'. Provides customers with detailed inventory of waste on site. Travel to customer locations.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient knowledge of chemistry principles and practices including analysis and evaluation, and waste processing and treatment protocols. Proficient knowledge of Federal & State Environmental and Transportation regulations. (DOT, OSHA and RCRA. etc.) Required skills include performing proper waste sampling; creating accurate waste characterizations and profiles; addressing difficult situations in a constructive manner; utilizing computer technology for communication, data gathering and reporting; negotiation and problem solving. Ability to build rapport with associates and managers. Detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy and the ability to detect inconsistencies in data. Express complex concepts clearly. Builds effective working relationships with customers to support requests and address routine needs. Currently hold a 40-hourHAZWOPER
(with 8-hour refresher) or ability to pass course upon hire. Currently hold a Tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 3-6 months of hire. Respirator fit test certifiedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a valid drivers license and maintain an MVR that meets Company policy standards Hold and maintain an active CDL (A, B, or C) with HAZMAT Endorsement Ability to pass Respirator fit test certification Ability to regularly lift or move object weighting 40lbs or morePay Range:
The pay range for this position is $39.35 to $54.12- which reflects the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions. The actual range will depend on the locality in which you are hired.
