Until filledJob Summary:
The position of Utilities Director is responsible for coordinating activities and resources in support of Wastewater projects and Stormwater utilities in conjunction with various departments and committees. This position also provides oversight to the staff of the Wastewater billing office, Wastewater Treatment Plant, and Stormwater. This role must possess the ability to manage time effectively and possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities and all other duties as assigned:- Provides oversight of all capital projects including engineering, property acquisition, permits, and construction
- Administration of utility contracts
- Provides oversight of project finances including budgets, revenues, and expenditures
- Maintains project scheduling including administrative tasks
- Schedule maintenance and upkeep on all pumpstations
- Maintains communication with various departments, appointed and elected officials, and developers while ensuring compliance with IDEM and EPA
- Floodplain management
- Attends various meetings to identify and prioritize project needs and monitor progress
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Town Manager, elected and appointed officials, and other field-related staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise Wastewater Billing Office, Wastewater Treatment Plant, and Stormwater employees Qualifications, Education, and/or
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or a minimum of three years' experience in a similar capacity
- Previous experience as a Utilities Director or Associate Director of a comparable organization is preferred.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations regarding utility management
- Exemplary customer service skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written forms.
- Valid driver's license
