Job Description

Description We are looking for an energetic, safety-minded team member to join our landfill operations team! You'll play a vital role in directing traffic, inspecting incoming waste loads for compliance, assisting customers and haulers, and helping maintain a safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant landfill.
Work Schedule:
3-4 days per week; 8-hour shifts.
What You'll Do:
Responsibilities:
Direct traffic and maintain the safe and efficient flow of vehicles entering and operating within the landfill working face. Inspect incoming waste loads to verify compliance with landfill regulations, permit requirements, and waste acceptance policies. Identify unacceptable, prohibited, or improperly prepared waste materials and notify supervisory staff when appropriate. Document required waste inspections and maintain accurate inspection records in accordance with regulatory and departmental requirements. Provide directions and customer assistance to haulers and landfill users regarding proper disposal locations, traffic patterns, and landfill procedures. Monitor the working face for unsafe conditions and promptly report safety concerns, equipment issues, environmental hazards, or unauthorized dumping activities. Maintain effective working relationships with customers, contractors, coworkers, and the public while providing courteous customer service. Perform related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
Must have a high school diploma or a GED. Must possess a valid Driver's License. Related experience in solid waste operations, construction, equipment operations, traffic control, customer service, or a similar outdoor work environment is preferred, but not required.
Supplemental Information Physical Demands:
Requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, gripping, and verbal communication. Must be available for on-call emergencies outside normal business hours and work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
Environmental Conditions:
Indoor and outdoor work is conducted in variable weather conditions - including extreme heat/cold and exposure to high or low temperatures, humid conditions, and other unfavorable weather conditions throughout the year.
