Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Recycling Operations Technician to join our sustainability team. The primary responsibility of this role is to efficiently operate a compacting machine to bale corrugated materials and plastics, contributing to our company's commitment to environmental responsibility. The Recycling Operations Technician will also be responsible for collecting recyclable materials from various departments and disposing of general waste overflow as required. Key Responsibilities Safely and efficiently operate a compacting machine to process and bale corrugated materials and plastics.
Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance as necessary.
Collect recyclable materials from different departments within the organization according to a predetermined schedule.
Ensure timely and organized collection of materials to maintain an efficient recycling process.
Separate non-recyclable materials and contaminants to maintain the integrity of the recycling process.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate recycling efforts.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery and handling recyclable materials.
Participate in safety training programs and contribute to a safe working environment. Skills and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience in operating compacting machines and working with recycling equipment.
Strong understanding of recycling processes and materials.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects and operate machinery safely.
Must have experience operating a standard forklift and be able to become internally certified to safely operate.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting. Working Conditions The role involves working in an industrial setting, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
The Recycling Operations Technician may be required to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
