N/A JOB OVERVIEW
The Salida Plant is seeking an experienced Industrial Sanitation Technician responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across the entire facility, including offices, restrooms, break areas, production and warehouse spaces, and surrounding grounds. This role operates a variety of cleaning equipment such as forklifts, sweepers/scrubbers, and aerial lifts to support daily sanitation activities, while also performing industrial cleaning and sanitizing of production lines in both Ready to Eat and non-Ready to Eat environments to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. In addition, the position supports pest control efforts by monitoring and addressing insect activity, maintaining traps, and assisting with treatment applications. The role also provides operational and leadership support by assisting with training and onboarding, maintaining documentation and inventory, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall sanitation and pest control program effectiveness.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify and address pest activity, including locating nesting areas and supporting treatment applications Monitor and maintain pest control systems (pheromone traps, fogging, crack-and-crevice treatments, and chemical inventory) Perform cleaning and sanitation using manual tools and powered equipment (vacuums, scrubbers, pressure washers, etc.) Mix and safely use sanitation chemicals while adhering to PPE and safety requirements Clean and sanitize food-processing equipment and maintain overall facility cleanliness Support training and onboarding of team members on sanitation, safety, and standard work practices Maintain sanitation documentation, logs, and records, and support inventory management Troubleshoot sanitation and equipment issues while supporting continuous improvement and operational coverage
WHAT YOU NEED
Minimum qualifications High school diploma or GED Position requires a minimum of 1 year previous work experience in a sanitation or janitorial position. Pest control experience is a plus. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work under limited supervision independently and is self-motivated. Basic computer and math skills are desired. Work consists of routine tasks requiring identification of problems and everyday decision-making, where troubleshooting is required. Must be able to read and interpret company policies and instructions. Required to follow, maintain and improve standard work practices. Must meet output standards and meet schedules and deadlines as assigned. Must be knowledgeable and recognize crisis management alarms (fire, intrusion, machinery malfunction) and follow-up actions. Proceeds with duties by following several standardized procedures and may refer to supervisor if problems arise. Work is spot-checked. Errors may cause delays of minor loss of resources.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a standard manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, hazardous materials, and heavy machinery in varying work and weather conditions. You may be required to occasionally climb stairs and/or ladders.
