Job Description

As the largest U.S.-owned transformer manufacturer, we serve diverse markets including utility, industrial, renewable energy, and data centers, providing reliable electrical solutions across the nation. The Industrial Cleaning Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing facility, including production areas, industrial equipment, floors, warehouses, buildings, and exterior grounds. This position performs heavy-duty industrial cleaning using floor scrubbers, sweepers, pressure washers, vacuums, and other powered cleaning equipment. The technician may also operate forklifts and other light/heavy equipment as needed and trained. The goal of this position is to maintain high standards of 5S, housekeeping, cleanroom, equipment cleanliness, and overall plant appearance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean and maintain manufacturing floors, aisles, work areas, warehouses, and common areas. Operate industrial floor cleaning equipment, including ride-on and walk-behind floor scrubbers and sweepers. Sweep, scrub, vacuum, mop, pressure wash, and clean industrial surfaces. Clean industrial equipment, machinery, platforms, structures, and surrounding areas. Remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, metal debris, wood debris, and other industrial contamination. Clean around production equipment while following required safety procedures. Maintain exterior grounds, including sidewalks, parking areas, loading areas, and facility surroundings. Remove trash, debris, and accumulated materials from designated areas. Assist with cleaning spills and maintaining spill-response readiness. Support plant-wide 5S and cleanroom initiatives. Clean and maintain areas around production equipment, machines, platforms, presses, and other industrial machinery. Operate forklifts or other mobile equipment when properly trained and authorized. Use pressure washers, industrial vacuums, blowers, hoses, hand tools, and other cleaning equipment. Perform basic inspection of cleaning equipment and report damage or maintenance needs. Maintain cleaning equipment in a clean and serviceable condition. Properly store cleaning equipment, tools, chemicals, and supplies. Follow chemical handling, labeling, SDS, PPE, and safety requirements. Report unsafe conditions, equipment damage, leaks, spills, and housekeeping concerns. Support Maintenance and Operations with cleaning activities associated with equipment repairs, shutdowns, and projects. Maintain work areas in accordance with plant housekeeping and 5S standards. Perform other duties as assigned.
EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Candidates should have experience operating or working around industrial equipment such as: Industrial floor scrubbers Floor sweepers Ride-on cleaning machines Walk-behind cleaning machines Pressure washers Industrial vacuums Forklifts Heavy or mobile equipment Hand and power tools Blowers Forklift and heavy-equipment experience is strongly preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in industrial cleaning, manufacturing, warehouse, maintenance, facilities, or similar environments preferred. Demonstrated experience operating industrial floor cleaning machines . Forklift experience preferred. Experience operating heavy equipment or mobile equipment is a plus. Able to work safely around operating manufacturing equipment. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious. Able to follow written and verbal instructions. Good attention to detail. Willing to perform physically demanding work in an industrial environment. Able to work around dust, noise, heat, machinery, oils, grease, and other normal manufacturing conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb. Lift and carry cleaning equipment and materials. Push and pull industrial cleaning equipment. Work in confined or difficult-to-access areas when properly authorized. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Safely operate or work around forklifts and mobile equipment.
SAFETY EXPECTATIONS
Safety is a primary responsibility of this position.
The Industrial Cleaning Technician must:
Follow all plant safety rules and procedures. Wear required PPE. Follow Lockout/Tagout requirements when applicable. Never clean or reach into operating machinery unless the task is specifically designed and authorized for safe operation. Follow chemical handling and SDS requirements. Maintain awareness of forklifts, cranes, vehicles, and moving equipment. Immediately report unsafe conditions. Maintain clean and unobstructed walkways and emergency access areas.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for someone who takes pride in keeping a manufacturing facility clean, safe, organized, and professional. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating industrial cleaning equipment, working around heavy machinery, using forklifts or mobile equipment, and performing hands-on work throughout the plant and grounds.

Up to $20.00 per hour
