As a Solid Waste Worker, you will be responsible for the collection of residential refuse, yard waste, bulk items, recyclable materials and/or the removal of litter from City streets, lanes and rights-of-way. We offer great pay, excellent benefits and career progression! We look forward to having you onboard! Essential Job Functions Performs manual labor in day-to-day Sanitation Department operations. Serves as a spotter to assist truck operator in safely backing up and maneuvering in congested spaces. May assist truck operator with determining correct routes. Operates hydraulic lift and press. Maintains inventory of tools assigned to the truck. Collects household refuse. Directs traffic as needed. Collects recyclable materials. Collects litter, changes litter baskets. Collects yard waste, bulk items, and dead animals. Cleans vehicles and equipment at end of route. Assembles, delivers, repairs, cleans, and collects refuse carts as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications No prior experience required. Requires the ability to lift items up to forty (40) pounds. This is a critical workforce position.
Work Hours:
Mon - Thurs 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Work Location:
1809 W. Hwy 80 Additional Requirements Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment. Additional Information Knowledge of department safety procedures. Knowledge of department policies and procedures. Skill in the operation of hydraulic lift and press mechanism. Skill in oral communication.
