Job Description

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Help maintain sanitation of the USDA food plant by contributing to a physically safe and safe food environment through teamwork Utilizes all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) Break down, reassemble, clean, and sanitize manufacturing equipment Utilize power tools to help carryout cleaning duties such as but not limited to foaming and hand-scrubbing floors and walls Clean production and non-production areas in most of an indoor environment Participating in pre-operation inspections of the equipment Adheres to and understands Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
REQUIREMENTS
Two years of experience in a food manufacturing plant- preferred but not required Bilingual (English and Spanish) reading, writing, and speaking- preferred but not required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED Two years' sanitation experience Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 2,200 pounds with lifting equipment or with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a plant production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job in the plant, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles. Employee may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures that range from below zero (0) degrees Fahrenheit to over ninety (90) degrees Fahrenheit. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. While in the plant, the employee is required to utilize the required personal protective equipment. • Based on performance and experience, this position offers the opportunity for growth into a supervisor position.
