Job Description
City of Macomb The City of Macomb, Illinois, is hiring a Temporary/Seasonal Part-Time Line Worker for Macomb City Public Transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspections of transit vehicles, including checking fluid levels and reporting maintenance concerns
- Clean, fuel, wash, and prepare buses and vans to ensure c they are safe and ready for daily service
- Deep clean Demand Response vehicles as needed
- Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA guidelines and agency procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist maintenance personnel and support daily transit operations
- Report safety hazards, vehicle damage, and operational concerns promptly
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Previous custodial, maintenance, or transportation experience preferred but not required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong communication skills
