Job Description:

The Sanitation team member plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and food-safe environment throughout the production facility. This hands-on position is responsible for executing routine and deep-cleaning tasks across all areas of the plant—including equipment, offices, and confined spaces—while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Ideal candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working in physically demanding conditions while supporting a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Cleaning of mill equipment, buildings and surrounding areas including offices, lunchroom, rest rooms, locker rooms, roofs, empty bins and other areas as directed by supervisor.
• Pick up product spills and dump carts occasionally.
• Must handle a brush vacuum hose, broom, shovel and scraper on a regular basis.
• Will work off ladders and inside confined spaces occasionally.
• Clean up all work areas, follow directions and perform other tasks as directed by supervisor.
• Report any infestation and/or contamination to ensure Grain Craft produces and ships a quality product.
• Must report all accidents and near misses to create a safer work environment at Grain Craft.
• Must perform safety and sanitation audits with supervisor as required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Perform work per the assigned on site schedule.

Qualifications Required:

• Able to work a flexible work schedule and overtime when needed.
• Able to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Need to be safety conscious.
• Need to have the capability to work in a team environment.
• Need to be capable in working in hot environment.

Preferred:

• Previous experience working in a food manufacturing facility is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

• Physically able to work outside, climb ladders and lift 100 lbs., tolerate dust and high or low temperature.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, and kneeling
• Comfortable working at heights and on ladders or scaffolding
• Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for operating tools and machinery
• Tolerance for noisy, dusty, or hot/cold environments
• Ability to wear required PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and respirators
• Visual acuity and hearing sufficient to identify mechanical or safety issues
• Stamina to work 12-hour shifts or rotating schedules as needed This position is contingent upon successfully passing Grain Craft's background screening, drug-screening and physical (if applicable).
