A Waste or Recycling Worker collects, recycles, processes or treats waste in a city or community. Works in a recycling plant, wastewater treatment facility, or landfill. Collects refuse from commercial and/or residential locations. Does not drive the vehicle used to collect/transport refuse.
We're looking for a dependable Utility Worker to support the operations and maintenance of water distribution, water treatment, and wastewater collection systems. You'll perform hands-on maintenance, operate equipment, keep accurate records, and help keep our systems and facilities running safely and efficiently. This is a great entry-level opportunity with a clear path toward licensing and career growth.
Pay:
$22.00- $28.00 per hour DOE What you'll do Perform routine and corrective maintenance on water and wastewater systems Clean vehicles, heavy equipment, bar screens, comminutors, weirs, digesters, pumps, and related equipment Perform routine vehicle and equipment inspections; complete minor maintenance such as oil changes and greasing Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment to load, haul, and spread materials; dig and refill ditches and trenches Maintain grounds and buildings — mow, trim, rake, plant, and care for lawns and ornamental plantings Carry and supply materials and tools to support operations and maintenance personnel Maintain accurate records of materials hauled by contractors or applied to agricultural lands Follow oral and written directions; maintain cooperative working relationships Work toward obtaining a water distribution and/or collection license within two years What you need Valid driver's license Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, carry a 50 lb tool box, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout an 8-hour shift Comfort working indoors and outdoors in environments with noise, confined spaces, fumes, and chemicals — all required PPE provided Willingness to obtain a distribution and/or collection license within two years of hire Reliable, dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Nice to have Experience operating heavy equipment — backhoes, skid steers, or mini-excavators (strongly preferred) Basic knowledge of water/wastewater systems, pumps, vehicles, and related equipment Familiarity with hand and power tools used in vehicle, equipment, and building maintenance #UtilityWorker#WaterUtility#WastewaterOperator#WaterDistribution#HeavyEquipment#OandM #
