Recycling Center Assistant/Laborer Norwell, MA Apply Position Description/Minimum Qualifications Year Round Part-Time Job with following schedule: Wednesday, 7:30a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Saturday, 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Total:
16.0 hours per week, non-benefited Position performs semi-skilled manual work and basic clerical administration in the operations and maintenance of the Norwell Recycling Center to ensure proper separation and placement of recyclables. Recycle items may include scrap metal, yard waste, electronics, household batteries, and household single stream recyclables. Physically loads, unloads, manipulates and manages a variety of materials. Requires strong communication and excellent customer service skills in instructing residents who come to the center. Basic clerical skills include collection of fees for recycling, recordkeeping, coordinating removal of goods, and the handling of any inquiries for both the Town recycling and trash programs.

In addition, pulling, pushing, reaching, squatting, standing or walking for the full workday may also be involved in all type of weather conditions. For clerical work, must be able to use a computer and have a pleasant phone voice when dealing with residents or vendors. Must be highly ethical and able to account for any fees collected. Must be able to commit to working the Wednesday & Saturday schedule. Computer Skills Ability to perform computer basic skills such as data entry or typing file notes, composing and sending emails.
