Job Description

The City of South Portland is currently seeking a 40 hour a week (four-day workweek) full-time Collection Systems Operator for our Water Resource Protection Department. This is an opportunity to join a well-run city and play a part in serving our growing and dynamic community.
Position Summary:
Perform a variety of skilled, technical, and operational tasks in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of the South Portland municipal wastewater collection and stormwater drainage systems.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Must have a valid Class C driver's license. Ability to obtain a Maine Class B Commercial driver's license within 24 months of hire, a Grade I Collection Systems Operator Certificate within 24 months of hire, and a tank endorsement within 24 months of hire. Upgrade driver's license to a Class A within 36 months of hire.

Salary Range:
$25.17 - $28.70/hourly ($52,353.60-$59,696.00 annually) depending on experience. This position is eligible for annual step increases, and possible annual cost of living increases as approved by the City Council.
