Solid Waste Facility Manager and Environmental Services Director HOURS:
Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm / Occasional Saturdays 8:00am-Noon
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the daily operations of the Recycling Center, Transfer Station, Yard Waste Composting Site, and Recyclables Drop-box Collection sites. Primary duties include customer service, material handling, operation and maintenance of heavy trucks, tractors, loaders, mowers, balers, crushers, conveyors, screens, and similar equipment.
PAY RANGE
$24.45 - $30.98 per hour

Waste sorting and disposal Recyclables sorting, processing and transport Customer service Perform duties of Solid Waste Facility Manager in his/her absence
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Skill in operating conveyors and other material processing equipment, front end loader, skid loader and heavy trucks. Ability to communicate with the public on matters concerning waste and recycling, follow oral and written instructions, perform minor operating adjustments and to recognize operating deficiencies in assigned equipment, perform strenuous work under varying conditions, deal courteously with customers, use cash register and be responsible for all money therein.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma Must have or be able to obtain Class A Driver's License; P lease
Note:
an employment offer will be contingent on completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol tests with negative test results and a criminal background check
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work is medium to heavy, involving lifting and carrying objects weighing over fifty pounds. Finger and manual dexterity and motor coordination are required for the variety of jobs performed. Work will be dirty and hazardous at times, subject to cuts, shock hazard, possible injury by power tools and subject to noise, dust, and vibrations from machinery.
