We are specifically seeking those individuals equipped via a combination of experience and/or appropriate certifications to perform in the laboratory hazardous and medical waste program, maintain PPE and emergency equipment inventories and perform other safety-related tasks. This position will work directly with Lab Operations and Facilities departments to ensure efficient and safe laboratory operation. This position routinely operates on a Monday- Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM schedule, however there will be events that require occasional weekend work and/or paid overtime. Additional duties and responsibilities include but are not limited: Coordinate laboratory hazardous and medical waste containers placement, pick up and labeling Collect and consolidate hazardous and medical waste Prepare waste shipments for pick up and coordinate waste pick ups with waste contractors Conduct weekly hazardous waste inspections Manage emergency shower and eyewash testing Inspect emergency response kits Select and maintain inventory of waste management equipment and supplies Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Database Author and refine written SOPs for work responsibilities Perform other laboratory-related safety tasks as needed
