Job Description
Job Summary:
Our USDA-inspected hog processing facility is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sanitation Worker to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant food production environment. This role is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all production areas, equipment, and facilities using USDA-approved chemicals and procedures to support food safety, product quality, and plant operations. The position may require overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays based on production needs.Responsibilities:
- Use USDA- and company-approved chemicals to disinfect and sanitize surfaces, tools, and equipment
- Disassemble, thoroughly clean, sanitize, and reassemble hog processing and packaging equipment
- Clean and sanitize production lines, conveyors, grinders, saws, tables, walls, drains, and floors
- Remove, collect, and properly dispose of waste, meat scraps, and other byproducts in designated areas
- Sweep, scrub, and mop floors to prevent slip hazards and maintain sanitary conditions
- Clean and maintain ventilation systems, fans, and overhead structures as required
- Refill soap, sanitizer, paper towels, and other hygiene supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and handwash stations
- Follow all HACCP, GMP, SSOP, OSHA, and USDA regulations and company sanitation procedures
- Identify and report potential contamination risks, equipment issues, or safety concerns to management immediately
- Properly handle, mix, and store sanitation chemicals according to safety guidelines
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Assist with other processing, packaging, or plant tasks as needed
- Maintain accurate sanitation logs and documentation when required
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read labels, safety data sheets (SDS), and instructions.
- Previous sanitation or cleaning experience in a food processing or industrial environment is a plus, but not required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and food safety
- Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, noisy, and fast-paced environments
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, bend, lift, push, and pull (up to 50 lbs) and carry hoses through plant.
- Ability to work around raw pork products and processing equipment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, and overtime as needed.

- Hog processing facility with exposure to raw meat products
- Cold temperatures, water, cleaning chemicals, and strong odors
- Requires use of protective clothing such as gloves, aprons, face shields, and boots
