GED Driver's License Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Wastewater Utility Worker is responsible for a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the general operation and maintenance of City wastewater collection systems. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Wastewater Collection Supervisor and does not have supervisory responsibilities. This position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
Salary:
$17.38 - $21.72 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience

Schedule:
Monday Friday, 7 a.m. 3:30 p.m. Occasional flexibility required for after-hour calls Rotating on-call status weekends
Essential Functions:
In conformance with Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality and City construction and safety standards, may include but not limited to: Perform required labor in the repair, maintenance and construction of city wastewater collection lines and manholes Assist Maintenance Technician during inspections and repairs of lift stations, booster pumps stations, water towers, and control vaults Perform preventative maintenance, cleaning, and repair of division vehicles, tools, and equipment Perform other duties as assigned in a positive manner which supports the vision and strategic objectives of the division/department and the entire organization of the City of Owasso Be alert for conditions or situations that need attention in the maintenance of Wastewater Collection and other areas, and make recommendations for solutions Operate City vehicles Provide professional, punctual and courteous service to the citizens of the City of Owasso, and deal with adversarial situations tactfully and firmly while striving to maintain a spirit of cooperation and problem solving Minimum Qualifications, Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent Valid Oklahoma Driver license with a good driving record Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to display patience and work under difficult and stressful conditions Preferred Qualifications, Education and/or
Experience:
Minimum one year utilities operation related experience Knowledge of Water/Wastewater infrastructure Class "A" Commercial Driver License (CDL) certification or ability to obtain within first three months of employment ODEQ Class "D" Wastewater and Water Operator certification or higher, or ability to obtain within first six months of employment
Working Environment and Physical Requirements:
Work will be performed mostly outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, hot and cold, and wet and/or humid conditions, and frequently in mud and/or standing water. The work environment may include exposure to drafts, noise, dust, and grease. Tasks require ability to lift/push/pull/ and/or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and typically involve some combination of walking, sitting, or standing for extended periods of time, walking, balancing, climbing, bending, crawling, crouching, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, and mental and visual acuity, and may requires use of personal protective equipment.
