In this role, you will be responsible for operating baling equipment and various heavy machinery to efficiently process recyclable materials, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in handling material handling equipment, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Responsibilities Operate baling presses and other heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks to handle recyclable materials efficiently. Manage the safe loading, unloading, and transportation of recyclable waste in accordance with hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal functioning and report any mechanical issues promptly. Handle recyclable materials with care, ensuring proper sorting, stacking, and storage to maximize recycling efficiency. Maintain cleanliness of work areas by performing regular sanitation tasks and ensuring compliance with environmental standards. Adhere strictly to safety regulations by using personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during operations. Assist in landfill management activities as needed, including waste compaction and site cleanup. Support hazardous materials handling procedures when dealing with potentially dangerous recyclables. Participate in training sessions on safety procedures, environmental compliance, and equipment operation. Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals while maintaining high safety standards. Skills Proven experience operating loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks. Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Familiarity with solid waste management practices, landfill operations, and sanitation procedures. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in outdoor environments. Knowledge of recycling processes and recyclable materials handling techniques. Understanding of hazardous materials regulations and environmental compliance standards. Excellent safety protocol adherence skills combined with the use of appropriate PPE. Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions with a focus on safety. Effective communication skills for teamwork and safety reporting. Ability to perform routine cleaning tasks to maintain a safe work environment.
