Truck Wash Bay Attendant ATruck Wash Bay Attendantis responsible for cleaning and maintaining trucks, trailers, and related equipment in a commercial wash bay, ensuring they meet cleanliness and safety standards while providing good customer service.
Key Responsibilities Vehicle Cleaning:
Operate wash bay equipment such as power sprayers, hand brushes, and steam cleaners to clean the exterior of tractors and trailers, as well as the interior of trailers
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
Use and maintain wash bay machinery, including pressure washers, hoses, nozzles, and chemical application systems
Chemical Handling:
Apply and replenish commercial-grade cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer instructions and safety data sheets (SDS)
Interior & Detailing Tasks:
Clean and detail truck interiors, vacuum dashboards, remove trash, and deodorize cabins
Yard & Area Maintenance:
Drive and park trucks/trailers on the yard, remove garbage and debris, and keep the wash bay and surrounding areas clean and organized
Safety & Compliance:
Follow OSHA and company safety regulations, wear required PPE, and maintain a safe work environment
Customer Service:
Provide friendly, professional service to drivers and customers
Other Duties:
Assist with general yard tasks, inventory maintenance, and any additional assignments as needed Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequent lifting of up to 10 lbs; occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Good vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception) and ability to adjust focus Work in outdoor weather conditions, including wet or humid environments Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. CDL helpful but not required Experience with vehicle cleaning, housekeeping, or operating pressure washers a plus Strong work ethic and willingness to work various shifts, including weekends Working Conditions Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather, and wet/humid conditions. PPE provided by employer based on role and exposure This role is essential for maintaining fleet appearance, safety, and operational efficiency, and it requires both physical stamina and attention to detail.
