This role plays a critical part in supporting overall restaurant operations and ensuring guests receive a clean, organized, and exceptional dining experience. The Busser/Back Server is responsible for assisting servers and restaurant leadership with maintaining dining room cleanliness, resetting tables, assisting with food delivery, refilling beverages, supporting service flow, and ensuring the restaurant remains operationally prepared throughout service periods. This individual will help create a welcoming and efficient environment for guests while supporting front-of-house operations during high-volume meal periods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, sense of urgency, and willingness to work collaboratively within a fast-paced hospitality environment. Prior restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred, but not required. A commitment to teamwork, guest service, and maintaining high cleanliness and presentation standards is essential for success in this role. Duties Support bartenders and servers by maintaining overall cleanliness, organization, and operational flow of the bar and dining areas throughout service. Stock and restock beer, wine, liquor, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and bar supplies before, during, and after service periods. Assist bartenders with changing kegs, replenishing inventory, retrieving supplies, and maintaining bar readiness during high-volume periods. Clear, clean, and reset bar tops, high-top tables, lounge areas, and dining tables promptly and efficiently. Assist with food running, beverage refills, water service, and guest support as needed to enhance the overall dining experience. Wash, sanitize, and polish glassware, bar tools, and service equipment in accordance with health and safety standards. Maintain cleanliness of all front-of-house and bar support areas, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and organization of storage areas. Complete opening, closing, and side work duties to ensure operational readiness and smooth transitions between shifts. Monitor bar and dining room supplies and communicate replenishment needs to leadership proactively. Respond to guest needs with professionalism, urgency, and hospitality while maintaining proper service etiquette at all times. Immediately notify management of guest concerns, operational issues, spills, breakage, or safety hazards. Support a positive team environment by working collaboratively with bartenders, servers, kitchen staff, and leadership. Comply with all food and beverage regulations, sanitation guidelines, alcohol service policies, and workplace safety standards. Experience Prior restaurant, barback, busser, or hospitality experience preferred, but not required. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment while maintaining professionalism and urgency. Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds and remain standing or walking for extended periods of time. Strong teamwork, communication, and guest service skills with the ability to support both bartenders and servers effectively during service. Dependable, proactive, and able to anticipate operational needs within the bar and dining environment. Ability to multitask and maintain organization during peak service periods. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on operational needs. Must demonstrate professionalism, positive attitude, and strong work ethic within a team-oriented environment. Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices preferred; TIPS, ServSafe, or similar certifications are a plus. Ability to maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards in accordance with food and beverage and health/safety regulations.
