COPY LINK link Adecco is assisting a client in Newark, DE in their search for a Buyer to join a growing team in an exciting, technology‑driven environment. This fully on‑site role offers the potential for conversion to permanent. The Buyer will be responsible for executing daily purchasing activities to support production schedules while ensuring material availability, supply continuity, and inventory optimization. This role works cross‑functionally with Material Planning, Production, Engineering, Quality, and external suppliers. Key Responsibilities Manage daily purchasing activities for raw materials to support production requirements Review and validate MRP requirements to ensure demand accuracy and timely purchase order placement Analyze material demand, supply signals, and inventory levels to identify shortages and supply risks Develop and execute mitigation plans for material shortages in collaboration withmodity managers and planning teams Expedite supplier deliveries and follow up on open purchase orders Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory Communicate with suppliers regarding lead times, delivery schedules, shortages, and recovery plans Support supplier performance improvement and escalation management Maintain accurate purchasing data and updates within ERP/MRP systems Support product transitions, supplier changes, and phase‑in/phase‑out activities Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure uninterrupted material flow to production Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field (preferred) 2+ years of Buyer or Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred) Strong understanding of procurement processes, MRP systems, and supply planning Experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills Excellentmunication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications Preferred Qualifications Experience interpreting and working with manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs) Knowledge of production planning and inventory control processesAPICS/CPIM
