This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which serves the telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Our portfolio combines our stored energy expertise with power systems, enclosures, and renewable energy products to deliver world-class solutions for diverse applications such as 5G, broadband, Internet of Things (IoT), data center, and solar power. Learn More About Energy Systems Job Purpose Manage and ensure the purchasing of materials, services, and/or equipment for the assigned purchasing portfolio, within the set procurement policies and guidelines, to ensure an uninterrupted and timely supply at optimum cost within specificationsEssential Duties and Responsibilities Reviews customer orders on a daily basis
Contact potential vendors, perform reference checks, review quotations and evaluate each purchase requisition for the most appropriate methods of procurement Review purchase orders for accuracy
Establish priorities for assigned commodities with key vendors and ensure priorities are maintained
Maintain effective communication with both internal and external customers
Interface with all levels of management both internally and externally Continuously strive to reduce the cost of assigned commodities
Interact with engineering department to assist in the sourcing of materials, with respect to cost, quality, and availability of materials
Generate reports per specified processes that measure key buyer performance metrics
Qualifications Minimum 2-3+ years experience in a similar position
At minimum High School Diploma, preferred Associate's or bachelor's degree in procurement or a related field
Knowledge of software programs, including MS Office, etc. Preferred Foreign language is a plus, English a must
A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.
Knowledge of MRP and ERP
2-4 year college degree or higher in business or related field
