Job Description
Overview The C-Store Clerk is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the convenience store. This role involves handling transactions, stocking shelves, maintaining store cleanliness, and assisting customers with their needs. The C-Store Clerk plays a key role in creating a positive shopping experience and contributing to the store's overall success. Duties Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries and purchases. Provide accurate information about products, promotions, and services. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional manner. Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately, including cash, credit, and debit payments. Conduct end-of-shift cash reconciliations and ensure the cash register balance is accurate. Stock shelves and ensure that products are displayed neatly and in accordance with store standards. Monitor inventory levels and report low stock or out-of-stock items to the store manager. Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries and organizing stock in the storage areas. Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting. Ensure that the store is tidy and free of hazards, including managing waste and recycling. Follow all store policies and procedures, including those related to safety and security. Adhere to health and safety regulations and ensure that the store complies with local laws and regulations. Work collaboratively with other store staff to ensure a smooth operation and efficient customer service. Support and assist new employees in learning store procedures and policies. Must have a working knowledge and be able to adhere to all tribal ordnances, policies and procedures, EPA permitting process, THPO permitting process and any other regulations that are applicable to the grant projects. Complete all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus but not required. Able to lift 25 pounds with or without accommodations. Basic math skills and familiarity with cash handling. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Friendly and approachable demeanor. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Pre-employment/random drug tests and a background check will be required for this position.
