The City of Berkeley invites existing part-time employees to accept additional hours of work as a Library Specialist II. Details of this Offer of Work are below.

Schedule:

Week 1 & 4

Tuesday:

11am

• 8pm Wednesday

• Saturday:

  9am
• 6pm Week 2 & 3

Monday:

11am

• 8pm Tuesday

• Saturday:

  9am
• 6pm This position will be required to work one Sunday per quarter.

Location:

Central Support (Teen Services) To be eligible for this Offer of Work, you must: Be qualified to do the additional work (must hold a part-time position in the same classification in the same department/division); and Have worked for the City for more than two weeks; and Have a work schedule that does not conflict with the additional hours OR be a career employee interested in replacing your current schedule with the hours offered. To accept this Offer of Work, you must submit an application by 5:00 PM on Monday, September 7 .

NOTE:

In compliance with the Berkeley Fair Workweek Ordinance, the City of Berkeley will not distribute additional work hours in a manner intended to avoid an increase in the number of employees working 30 or more hours per week, or to avoid the granting of any benefits that an employee earns based on hours worked. The offering of these additional hours shall not in itself confer career status on any non-career employee or confer benefits on any non-benefitted employee, unless required by state or federal law.
